We want to let you know how much we are praying for you and the people you love. This season has brought an acute awareness of the challenges that are facing all of us, challenges that are unprecedented in health, work and business, and in life and leadership. We commend so many of our spiritual brothers who have been on the front lines for months, within the medical community or in other ways; transport, production, education, building and in practically every vocation, facing dilemmas unimaginable during Covid-19.
Since we were last together at XCEL 2019 when the building was at full capacity with men, shoulder-to-shoulder, indeed, so much has changed. That is why I am writing to talk to you about XCEL 2020. Maybe you wondered why it has taken time to inform you of the decision? There are a few reasons.
First, we wanted to wait for more clarity regarding in-person gatherings from our government. In light of so many things being cancelled in our nation, we wanted to make sure that we had no other option but to postpone.
Secondly, we wanted to try to figure out how we can do something to encourage you online, which I will talk more about in a moment. So XCEL 2020 is postponed to 12th-13th November 2021.
Rest assured that we endeavour to make this as easy as possible. We have transferred every ticket for XCEL 2020 to 2021, so the good news is that you don’t need to do anything: your booking will automatically move forward to next year. Currently our office is operational, but is running with less team than usual, so if you have urgent questions and queries please reach out and we’ll try and help in the best way we can.
When you think about it, it’s a little crazy that we called the theme of this year’s conference in 2020 ‘Home’. Now we are all home! Even though we couldn’t have imagined what would happen, we have peace in the fact that God is with us, and has gone before us.
Therefore on Friday 13th November 2020, there will be a digital online experience at 7:30pm, with a lot of fun, banter, worship and a life-giving word. And you will have access to it, as well as your delegate place rolled over to 2021. Then in 2021 we are going to gather to celebrate like never before!
It’s my heart that we could support each other, stand with each other, pray for each other and be the brothers that Jesus intended us to be. A brother is born for adversity (Proverbs 17:17), and if there was ever a time to be there for each other it’s right now!
I have explained all of this a little more on the video below.
Let’s seek God together, lean into Him and find fresh strength to press ahead.
